Try it Tuesday: Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies

As most of you know, LLScene is a little late to the domestic party when it comes to baking and cooking. That being said, we were so excited when Lindsey received a KitchenAid Mixer as a wedding gift.

We wanted to start with something that we couldn’t mess up, which is why we are sharing Better Homes & Garden’s chocolate chip cookie debut recipe with you today.

What You’ll Need:

1 Stick of Salted Butter

1 Cup of Sugar

1/2 Cup of Brown Sugar

2 Eggs

2 Cups and 4 Tbsp of Flour

1 tsp Baking Soda

1 and 1/2 tsp Salt

1/2 tsp HOT water

1 tsp Vanilla

12 oz. Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips

Don’t budge on the hot water or 4 tablespoons of flour if you want these cookies to turn out delicious. Just throw all of the ingredients in and let the mixer do the work!

Directions:

Preheat Oven to 350°

Step One: Cream together butter, sugars, and eggs.

Step Two: Add flour, soda, salt, vanilla and HOT water. Mix well.

Step Three: Add Chocolate Chips and optional chopped nuts.

Step Four: Spoon onto parchment paper lined cookie sheet.

Small – Medium sized Cookies Bake for 8-10 mins

Large sized Cookies bake for 10-12mins.
