I’m lucky enough to call the county of Palm Beach my home. The perfect area, where the sun is always out and people are always happy, because yes I live in vacation land. But when it turns into summer for this little town; it’s time to pack up your bags and head out of town. My most recent extended weekend away consisted of a trip to the Hamptons.

While traveling is an adventure my true passion is interior design. How great to combine the two! I went on this trip with a friend of mine also in design; always great to travel with a buddy that is on the same page as you. Our first stop along the way was an adorable furniture shop called Homenature in Southampton. If you are looking for good accent pieces to furnish your home with, this is your stop.

Of course not before you get a delicious gelato treat from the ever so precious, Sant Ambroeus, Southampton. Approaching Montauk we stopped into Serena and Lily for a few samples and inspiration. They have everything you want to brighten up your home.

I traveled with a bit of a foodie… our first stop was at roll/lunch where we both had a lobster rolls and split a cupcake for dessert. Second dessert of the day, but who’s counting. My friend turned into my tour guide and off we went to the beach, where the sand was white and fluffy. Temperature was a perfect 70 degrees. No joke, it was perfect. Everyone I knew insisted that my dinner plans must be at The Surf Lodge. Good food, music, and drinks with a beautiful sunset as your backdrop; I don’t think there is anything better.

What I have found with my travels out in Montauk is that there is much consistency. It is a place where people go to unwind as they layout, play volleyball, Frisbee, skip rocks … you name it on the beach soaking up the sun. While at night you find your closest friends to dine at your favorite restaurants and truly enjoy each other’s company. More restaurants I ate at were; Navy Beach Restaurant; Crow’s Nest Restaurant and Ruschmeyer’s. Each with its own individuality and charm.

Would I go back? Undoubtedly, yes. What a beautiful way to spend summer!
