Why lie? We love all things fabulous, which is why when we had to chose a birthday staycation destination, the Boca Raton Resort & Club was a no brainer. Lindsey and her mom decided to have a special ‘mother/daughter’ weekend filled with red wine, delicious dinners, spa days, room service and fun in the sun at the Boca Beach Club. With the exception of a drunk psychic telling them they are both ‘laughing on the outside, but crying on the inside’ it was the perfect weekend.
The Boca Beach Club is a ferry ride over from the Boca Raton Resort & Club. A relatively new addition to the hotel, the Boca Beach Club lives up its contemporary reputation with ocean views and modern ambiance.
Dinner was spent at Lucca over a bottle of their award winning wines, Pinot Noir, Lyric by Etude, Sonoma. Overlooking the intracoastal waterway, it was the perfect ambiance for a belated birthday staycation dinner. What to eat? Their ricotta and meatball dinner might change your life, while the steak entree will melt in your mouth.
Sunday morning was spent at Boca Resort’s exclusive Spa Palazzo. We highly recommend trying their ‘Bath Ritual’ before your spa treatments begin. The bath consists of 10 minutes in your choice of dry, wet or inhalation sauna. We chose the eucalyptus inhalation, which was extremely pleasant. From there, you are escorted into the ‘bath room’, which looks like a Middle Eastern motif.
The center of the room is a jacuzzi, surrounding the jacuzzi are the various tubes/showers for the ritual bath experience. You then soak in your drawn bath and are given a mask for your face, some body scrub with a loofa and some grapefruit sorbet. When the 10 minutes are up you are then moved to a shower with multiple jets. The water alternates hot and cold and comes out in a very needlepoint spray. It can be borderline painful/pleasurable. Next you stand in a small deep tub and one big forceful jet of water drops from the ceiling and massages your back. This was the best part and I wished it lasted longer. After that you are free to relax in the jacuzzi, you are given some fruit and water. The ritual bath may sound a little uncomfortable and confusing, rest assured, the staff holds your hand through each step so you get the most of your experience.
We couldn’t believe the Victorian themed waiting room, it just screamed lavender tea and relaxation. After the Ritual Bath our muscles were warm and ready for a full body massage. The massage was extremely enjoyable consisting of the perfect amount of pressure and relaxation.
All in all, our LLScene staycation was a big success. If you live in the South Florida area and are looking to do a little something different this weekend, look into the summer specials still going on at the Boca Resort!
