NYFW | LLScene Favorites

As most of you know, Lilly and Lindsey are in a little bit of a depression over missing NYFW this week. However, we have been live streaming all the shows to bring you our favorite designs and where you can get the looks for less.

Today’s post spotlights our favorite styles from the Spring 2016 collections of Christian Siriano, Rachel Zoe, Nicole Miller, and Kate Spade.

Christian Siriano’s Spring 2016 collection was inspired with handkerchief-hem frocks and sleek shifts in shades of cream, fringed and beaded pencil skirts, and billowing, colorful gowns. Lots of peaches, teals, and pastels. While headscarves were a staple look in this collection, he also showcased bodycon silhouettes, sexy cutouts, high slits, plunging necklines. We couldn't help but think of being poolside in Palm Springs in the 60s and 70s while watching this show.

More often than not, we are seeing a new runway trend during fashion, instead of models walking the runway, we are seeing more designers having their models stand like mannequins. Rachel Zoe did just this while showcasing her Spring 2016 collection during New York Fashion Week. Guests were able to walk the runway, while getting up close and personal with each design, fabric, and of course the protruding bone structor of the hungry models. Zoe’s collection was a modern take on the romantic gypset, which was inspired by the glamour of the late ‘70s and early ‘80s. So, what does gypset actually mean? Urban Dictionary defines the 'gypset' as culturally savvy, bon vivant types who live a carefree, gypsy-ish lifestyle with the sophisticated means of the jet-set. Given the boho-chic ambiance of her collection, we are all about at LLScene.

Whether we’re doing a gift guide, or premiering fashion trends, you can guarantee that Kate Spade will make it on our list. Kate Spade’s spring collection is being called “one of the best collections of the season” and we couldn’t agree more. You can always count on a beautiful pop of color, flirty florals, and glittery accessories. “Our spring begins at the intersection of daydreams and day trips,” says Deborah Lloyd, the President and Chief Creative Officer of Kate Spade. We’re loving the whimsical feel this collection brings with its bright, luscious silks to delicate eyelet laces. Kate Spade’s dresses and skirts are always feminine and colorful.

As usual, Nicole Miller’s spring collection was nothing short of fabulous. There were blogger “street style” inspired colors with warm magentas, navy blues, and bright oranges. What we loved about this collection the most? The everyday girl can rock any of these looks. Whether you have curves, a boxy frame, or an athletic build, this collection is made for you. We picture fashionista business professionals rocking these styles on the streets of New York in the summertime.
