That’s right...we got some work done. Last week LLScene had their first (of many) Botox parties, and couldn’t be happier with the results. Dr. Mylissa Graber hosted LLScene and our #SceneGirls for a night of anti-aging education, injections, and facials. According to society, “us 20 somethings” are at the ripe old age that requires a little more maintenance. Everything we are doing from here on out is preventative. Real housewives of Boca Raton, here we come!
So, what can we say about our experience at Dr. Mylissa's Medical Spa? Not enough good things! Dr. Mylissa Graber, owner of Dr. Mylissa's Medical Spa, is a board-certified emergency physician. Most of our #SceneGirls (including Lindsey & Lilly) have never received Botox before this party, but Dr. Mylissa Graber had the ability to calm our nerves, while making us completely comfortable with an amazing bedside manner. With over 15 years of emergency medicine experience, Dr. Mylissa Graber has mastered the art of beauty, so it wasn’t hard for us to put our complete trust in her.
It’s no secret that we’re an open book at LLScene, we’ll tell you everything you want to know! As first time Botox clients, we had A LOT of questions. Dr. Mylissa Graber was beyond patient with our concerns, which helped make the process completely painful. That being said, what do you all want to know? Here are some of the questions we had that night...
Is it going to hurt?
No! Dr. Mylissa makes sure of that! You’re required to sit for 45min with numbing cream on your face in the direct spots you plan on getting injected. It takes her 4 minutes (seriously!), and you don’t feel a thing!
I’m scared of that “droopy eye thing”, could that happen to me?
Nope! Because of her background in emergency medicine, Dr. Mylissa isn’t your average cosmetologist, she has the experience and knowledge regarding the anatomy of the face. You won’t receive an injection that comes near the muscles that could potentially cause the droopy eye.
Does it work?
I think this question kind of speaks for itself. If you haven’t noticed why 90% of celebrities look like their 23 years old, than you’re one of the people asking this question. Of course it works! Results pop up immediately, but don’t fully come to surface until 4 days after your treatment. Lindsey & Lilly have been commenting about their skin getting progressively tighter day after day.
What is the difference between Botox & Fillers?
This is a question we all had, so don’t feel bad! Fillers are complementary procedures - they are not the same thing as Botox and should not be thought of the same. While Botox is used to treat dynamic wrinkles, fillers are used for static wrinkles and to enhance volume. Fillers are used to 'fill' these static lines and folds. It is important to note that static wrinkles have multiple causes: loss of volume of the face as we age or sagging due to gravity. Some wrinkles are accentuated by muscle activity, like smiling! Who knew that something so positive could result in something no negative one day…? Fillers can also be used to plump or augment the lips, which is what Lindsey was the most excited about.
There are so many “filler brands” out there. Which one do you recommend?
Dr. Mylissa prefers to use Juvederm Fillers for us “20 somethings”, which is why Lindsey and other #SceneGirls chose to go this route as well. Juvederm is appropriate for any area of the face, including lines and creases around the mouth, nose, and forehead. We also noticed the natural plump it gave our lips following the treatment.
Do the fillers hurt?
We’re not going to lie to you...a little bit. But, hear us out. The only thing that hurts is the dental block shot that comes before the Juvederm injection, but Dr. Mylissa numbs you beforehand for this too. Think of getting a novocain shot at the dentist! This temporary lapse of discomfort is worth the results that come with it. It takes about 2 minutes for the dental block to kick in, and once it does, you won’t feel a thing, seriously!
Any downtime?
This all depends on the way you heal. Some people don’t swell or bruise after filler injections and some do. Because it was our first time getting these treatments, we swelled and bruised for a couple days. If this is something you’re interested in getting for an upcoming event or life milestone, plan ahead. We recommend getting this treatment a week or two beforehand.

Ladies, remember this is all preventative. Did we have a ton of fine lines and wrinkles to begin with? Not really, but we had some. Now they’re gone, and a regimen has been put in place to ensure they stay away forever. If we keep up with these precautionary measures, there’s no reason we can’t all look like Jen Aniston at 44 years old. It’s a scary thing, but the longer you sit in denial over the aging process, the longer it will take to reverse the damage. Make it easy and start now.
