Your #SceneGirls have been trying to take up the sport of tennis for quite some time, so when our friends at the Buzz Agency asked us if we would be interested in covering the Delray Beach Open, we jumped on the opportunity! With very little experience and education on the game of tennis, we didn’t really know what to expect. When we play tennis, it consists of the Blake & Sam gently serving the ball back and forth as we run and try to hit it back on “our good sides”.
This past Saturday, Lilly attended the semi-final match courtside with boyfriend, Sam. Lindsey was supposed to be in attendance, but received a facial peel that day. If you know anything about getting a facial peel, you’ll know why Lindsey wasn’t able to attend Saturday night, she was totally bummed. Lilly and Sam sat courtside for a semi-final match between the Bryan Brothers vs Jeremy Chardy and Leander Paes. While sitting courtside, we were shocked to find out that the Delray Beach Open is the only tennis tournament in the world that has the option for courtside seats. With the balls being hit back and forth at an average of 120 mph, it was a little scary at first, but it eventually became an afterthought once we realized these professionals knew what they were doing. The balls didn’t come anywhere near us.
Year after year, the Delray Beach Open brings out the “who’s who” of South Florida, and we couldn’t have been happier to be a part of it all. From the hospitality to the fashion, we were very impressed with the turnout and organization that went into making this two week tournament a success.
