American Cancer Society Birthday Ball Gala

American Cancer Society Birthday Ball Gala

You say gala, ball, or black tie affair and your #SceneGirls are there, remember our Mayor’s Ball looks of 2015? We’re excited to grace the red carpet this Saturday, April 30th at the American Cancer Society’s Birthday Ball Gala, Journey to the Orient at the Hyatt Regency Pier 66.

Most of you are familiar with the influential work of the American Cancer Society, and for over 100+ years they have been leaders in the fight to end cancer. Over one hundred years ago, the word cancer was virtually unheard of, and if you did hear the word, it basically meant a death sentence. However, in 1913, a group of 15 prominent physicians and businessmen in New York City, knew they had to raise public awareness about cancer in order to fight it, so they came together to form the American Cancer Society for the Control of Cancer, which later became the American Cancer Society. Since then, the Society has become the global leader in the fight to end cancer, with more than 3 million passionate volunteers helping us save lives and create a world with more birthdays. Just a little background on this amazing organization, if you didn’t already know!

Lilly & Lindsey will be there this Saturday in their black tie best to support the American Cancer Society and bring awareness to our younger demographic. We even have some fellow #SceneGirls who have worked so hard in planning this wonderful event (seen below).

Together with millions of our supporters like you worldwide, we’re helping people stay well, helping people get well, finding cures, and fighting back against cancer. This is why milestones like American Cancer Society’s Birthday Ball Gala are so crucial; not only to celebrate the success of the organization, but more importantly to continue to raise funds to maintain the future of the organization.
