Another July has practically come and gone, which means we’re reporting back from Miami Swim Week, and we’ve got a lot to say! As always, you can guarantee that your #SceneGirls had another successful weekend in the books, complete with another Brody Jenner run-in (Lindsey’s heart is still beating rapidly over this).
Okay, on to the important stuff! What is the hottest new swimwear looks and companies to look out for this year?
Versakini x Amanda Perna
Versakini has always been one of our favorite designers. We’ve collaborated with them in the past on multiple giveaways and just love their CEO, Kelsey Duffy. Side note, Kelsey was just named #6 on Forbes "Most Promising Women Entrepreneurs Under 30 from Shark Tank"! We are so happy for her!

For their Spring Summer 2017 collection, Versakini, teamed up with #SceneGirl favorite, Amanda Perna, a former Project Runway Star. Another designer you have seen us rant and rave over. We couldn’t be happier to see two of our favorite women collaborating on such an extraordinary collection. With countless combinations and versatility, Versakini x Amanda Perna unveiled their 2017 collection submerged in bold prints and radiant hues. Here are some of our favorites!
Robb & Lulu
Australian brand, Robb & Lulu presented their 2017 Collection, “Pineapples & Palms” at the LYCRA Swim Salon. If you didn’t already know, there’s nothing better than a true Australian swim designer. There’s something about the way these bikinis are made that have us constantly obsessing over them.
Inspired by their sense of artistic expression combined with the glamorous spirit of the beach, Robb & Lulu shines through as the season’s hottest swimwear line complete with adventure, intrigue, and the jet-setting international style. Robb & Lulu defines sexy, natural and effortless beach chic. You had us at effortless…
Filthy Haanz
Filthy Haanz unveiled their 2017 collection atop the W Hotel South Beach Hotel with a raw design philosophy, complete with gorgeous rich jewel-tones. Vivid jewel tones were complimented by a gold sheen lace and black strappy details. Unexpected teal and maroon color combinations caught the eye of attendees. The women’s category includes monokinis, bikinis, maillots, and wraps, whilst the men’s category includes speedos and trunks complimented with an assortment of essential tops and tanks perfect for poolside.
Indah Swimwear
Hi Brody Jenner! Sorry we got distracted for a second there…
Indah premiered The Casa Indah collection, which featured the same sexy, bohemian aesthetic that Indah is famously known for. As you know, Lindsey & Lilly have a hard time resisting anything boho, so this show had our attention from the beginning to the end. The Casa Indah introduced new, playful color patterns and prints. This year, designers Libby DeSantis and Janelle Gauthier hand picked models with heavy social influence that really captured the essence of what an Indah girl is: carefree, sexy and confident. New life goal: to become Indah models next year!
Revel Ray
Saturday had us very busy jumping from one show to the next as Revel Ray debuted their FUNK n’ SOL” Spring/Summer 2017 Collection. The newly launched brand is a funky, bold, swimwear company created by owner/designer Audrey “Rey” Swanson. The brand combines fashion, art, and unique custom hand painted prints; all while also focusing on great fitting bikinis designed to make any woman feel sexy in her own skin. Every designer suit from Revel Ray has been hand designed with exciting new suit patterns and prints. Each print is hand painted and/or graphically made by Audrey, using multiple types of mixed media. She focuses on creating unique bikini patterns, while keeping each fit flattering and sexy. The collection is made up of seamless designs, with most of the suits being reversible. All hail Revel Ray!
KAOHS Swim
You know how we feel about the Kardashians by now, so if they have a beloved swimwear company being featured during Miami Swim Week, you better believe we will be there. KAOHS Swim debuted its Resort 2016 and Spring 2017 collections with a total of 25 total looks, including 22 new bikinis and 3 returning favorites: Hampton Salty bikini, Rie bikini and Gypsy bikini (famously worn by Kim Kardashian).
KAOHS Swim’s newest collection features touches of stretch denim contrasted with white nylon/spandex swim fabric, as well as simple, structured bikinis inspired by the 90s embellished with silver rings, criss- crossing straps, sea shells, and one-shoulder tops.We love everything about this California based company because of their ability to incorporate our favorite swim trends, while complimenting our bodies at the same time.
In addition to the shows, we attended a couple of events as well. Escape Miami was held at the Sagamore Hotel, featuring fashion and lifestyle brands from all over the country. We did some shopping and beautifying with our girls from Face2Face Studios!
The Sunday Soiree was held at the Setai Hotel and was probably our favorite “pop-up shop” event because it featured two of our favorite local designers, Montce Swim & Poema Swim. Lindsey prepared her “Vegas Pool Party” wardrobe by stocking up on multiple suits from both designers.
Following the Sunday Soiree we headed to The Standard Hotel for Mara Hoffman’s Lazy BBQ. It was the perfect event to wrap up swim week as we lounged around and worked on our tans. The best part was that we got the opportunity to hangout and pose in a picture with Mara Hoffman herself!
Another fun weekend at Miami Swim Week is behind us and we left feeling pretty excited about the new collections and emerging designers we were able to see. Hope this post gives you insight into our experience at Swim Week, but more importantly, into the swimwear you should be rocking into 2017.
