Okay, it's a little late to still be talking about the "New Year, New You" stuff, but you know us...better late than never!
While we’re not ones to make a New Year’s resolution, we still appreciate what the new year represents - the chance to start fresh with a clean slate and make lifestyle changes you can actually keep. If you haven’t heard 2018 is the year of self love, which means putting yourself FIRST. Yes, be a little selfish this year. Can you handle that?
In all honesty, we’ve been wanting to write a post like this ever since Lindsey turned 30 last year. A post about about putting yourself first and paying attention to what your body is telling you. Since turning 30 Lindsey has been actively conscious of this; it’s pretty amazing what you can find out about yourself and your habits if you just PAY ATTENTION.
In addition to paying attention to yourself, pay attention to others too. We all get so caught up in the day-to-day hustle and find ourselves in a bubble of our own knowledge and opinions. Imagine how much better you would be at your job or just in life if you popped that bubble and paid attention to what other people were doing for once.
Here are some of the things we started paying attention to...
PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR FAMILY HISTORY
This may sound like a no brainer, but you’d be surprised how clueless people can be when it comes to their health and family history. History tends to repeat itself, so start asking questions about health problems your extended family has experienced and take note of this for future doctor appointments.
PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR ELDERS
You may think you know everything, but you don’t. Give your grandparents and the elders in your life some credit. They come with an abundance of knowledge and wisdom you can’t get anywhere else. And, they always have THE BEST stories.
PAY ATTENTION TO THE PROFESSIONALS
This one was pretty eye opening for us. If you ever find yourself in a situation where professionals are providing you a service, PAY ATTENTION. For example, instead of relaxing or falling asleep during our last facial Let’s get selfishly specific! As we said earlier, this year is all about putting yourself first. As we prepared for this post, we did a lot of research and trials with businesses, products and brands that can help us jumpstart our year of self love and reflection.

Get That Glowing Skin Checked
As much as we love the sun here in South Florida, we can’t express how important it is to get your skin checked yearly by a Dermatologist. Here’s another PAY ATTENTION moment for everyone. If you notice a difference with your skin - say a mole looks a little bigger than it used to - GET IT CHECKED OUT. There’s no reason to be afraid to go to the Dermatologist.
