Miami Swim Week 2019 Recap

Miami Swim Week 2019 Recap

Get out your wallets because summer swimwear has never been hotter. We’re fresh off our weekend at a Paraiso’s Miami Swim Week and can't stop thinking about all of the amazing swimwear and resort wear we witnessed the past 3 days.

Miami Swim Week 2019 Recap

Let’s start with our amazing daycation at the Loews Miami Beach because it was the perfect way to start off our Miami Swim Week(end). Who doesn’t need a good daycation every now and again and the summer is the perfect time to pull one off. We soaked up the sun in their SOAK private daybeds, which served as the perfect Instagram photoshoot opportunity. The day wrapped up with blowouts from the salon at the Loews, GLAM+GO.

BADGLEY MISCHKA

We couldn’t have kicked off Miami Swim Week with a better show. Badgley Mischka is known for eveningwear and accessories that reference the glamorous golden age of Hollywood, and their range of beachwear continues that approach while incorporating pretty florals, sleek monochromes, and subtle colors. Debuting their 2020 collection at the W Hotel in South Beach, we were personally drawn to their bandeau tops and skirted hipster pants, halter bikinis, and one-pieces. They also offer chiffon tunics that provide a cover-up option. One of the most popular styles they carry is the plunging V neck one-piece and draped halter bikini style.

Miami Swim Week 2019 Recap

We have to give a special shoutout and personal thank you to Duke Spirits who hosted us in their cabana during the Badgley Mischka show and the next day at the W South Beach’s YOU CAN SWIM WITH US events put on by the company, We Are The Secret Sauce. We’re usually not one for Bourbon, but we thought, “when at Swim Week” and tried some for ourselves and have to say it was delicious. Not only did we love the taste, but we also didn’t have a hangover the next day, which is CRUCIAL.

There was also a little something else that helped us avoid a hangover, an IV drip from Reset IV. We were so tired, hot, and dehydrated and their hydration IV basically brought us back to life.

CHLOÉ ROSE SWIMWEAR

Another fun show to report on! Chloé Rose debuted her new 2020 collection during Miami Swim Week with a playful nature and 70s Barbie aesthetic, which we couldn’t get enough of. Traditionally inspired by ultra-feminine and fresh styles, Chloé Rose changed it up by showcasing more bold, bright, and flirtatious pieces. We saw figure-flattering silhouettes ranged from deep-v and high leg one-pieces to teeny bikinis, off-the-shoulder bandeau tops, and high-waisted bottoms, as well as sporty pleated skirts and adjustable drawstring sets. Perfect accents to add to your summer swimwear wardrobe. We saw color palettes from vibrant pink and yellow to snake, velvet and vintage-inspired plaid. You can tell that the collection was thoughtfully designed for women to feel fun, confident, and energetic. We’ll be taking one of everything, please!

SINESIA KAROL

Trip to Capri anyone? Sinesia Karol presented their 2020 collection with a heavenly Italian landscape of the Isle of Capri, which served as the inspiration for Sinesia Karol's latest creations. The runway had magnetic energy of buzzing streets, vibrant landscapes, rocky caves, and vivid blue seas. The European summer paradise really set the tone for this bright and cheerful collection. Our favorite looks featured exclusive floral prints that offered bright colors and elegance that was both fresh and delicate. From one-pieces to bikinis, trends included a variety of intricate cut-outs, bold ruffles, high waists, one-shoulder, and bandeau tops, and figure-flattering deep-v silhouettes, there is truly something for everyone in mind. In addition to the swimwear, Sinesia Karol highlighted resort wear complete with fringed robes, maxi dresses, and matching crop top and pant sets, all styles were designed with effortless Italian seaside style in mind. Okay, so when are we going to Capri?

TORI PRAVER

We love a good Hollywood glam moment and Tori Praver did just that when she debuted her Resort 20 'On The Run' collection during Miami Swim Week. The namesake brand is known for its timeless trends and that fit perfectly with the Hollywood theme. The 2020 collection embodies femininity and sophistication. We were taken from the beach to poolside while each style and print is named after an iconic place in Los Angeles. In addition to swimwear, Tori Praver presented ready-to-wear looks and adorable kids styles with a combination of bold colors and classic prints. We loved the trends that included cheeky cut offs, ruffle tops, cut-out one-pieces and high-waisted bottoms.

ACACIA

Designer, Naomi Acacia Newirth really outdid herself this year with intricate design details, custom prints, buttery fabric, and seamless comfort. What more do you really need in swimwear? ACACIA’s Resort 2020 collection featured both swim and elevated ready-to-wear styles that included soft neutrals and pops of color. Truly something for anyone’s personal style. This collection was inspired by nature, traveling, and Hawaii. Another beautiful collection that mixed effortless femininity with sophistication. We’re all in for ACACIA’s 2020 collection.

VITAMIN A

Vitamin A premiered their 2020 collection by celebrating their 20th anniversary, how fitting?! The Resort 2020 collection with stylish designs with a laidback modern vibe, and who doesn’t love everything about that? Inspired by the Mediterranean island of Formentera we witnessed a dreamy landscape inspired by fruit, trees, warm sandy beaches and shallow turquoise waters that exist somewhere between rest and play. You’ll see simple shapes and organic materials with a range of muted and vibrant hues. Our personal favorites included high waists, cheeky high leg cuts, one shoulder tops, and deep-vs. From strapless bodysuits to classic bikinis, the color palette highlighted neutral black and white colors, alongside earth tones, pops of leopard, subtle metallic shades, snake prints, and bright blue and coral colors. We loved the throwback design details as the collection combined the best 20 years of the brand into one collection. A neutral color palette blends with classic cuts, a flattering fit, and a touch of nostalgia. The Resort 2020 Collection will begin dropping August 1st, with the 20th Anniversary Collection available to purchase in March of 2020.

SI Swimwear

We ended Miami Swim Week at the SI Swim Search Runway show and it was noteworthy, to say the least. For the first time ever Sports Illustrated hosted an in-person casting to premiere their 2020 collection during Miami Swim Week, and we were ALL about it. They had women rocking their collection that came in all shapes and sizes. Finally! In our opinion, the show was so less about the swimwear itself, and more about empowering women and embracing every body type. Bravo, Sports Illustrated.

Miami Swim Week 2019 Recap

Before heading to the SI Runway show, we stopped by the Veritas Farms bungalow at the W South Beach for cocktails, lots and lots of cocktails. If you aren’t familiar with Veritas Farms, they’re one of the front-runners in the CBD industry by producing the highest quality full spectrum CBS products. They produce everything from CBD capsules, lotion, and lip balm to products that are safe for pets. We’re all about the CBD movement and can’t wait to get our hands on these products.

Miami Swim Week 2019 Recap

We also wanted to thank Syrena Swimwear for dressing Lindsey in their Tangerine Twist Halter Bikini. She received so many compliments and felt so great.

Now more than ever, we are loving everything about what Miami Swim Week represents. Gone are the days of the stick thin model and swimwear that only fits one size. Designers are embracing styles that speak to every single body type and we couldn't be happier to report that.
