Your At-Home Beauty Quarantine Guide

Your At-Home Beauty Quarantine Guide

The intrigue of quarantine life has officially worn off, and while we’re doing our part to social distance, we’re also starting to realize just how essential our beloved beauty professionals really are to us. The memes about coming out of quarantine looking like a caveman were only so funny until they became real. The struggle to adjust to this “new temporary normal” has caused us to get creative and figure out how to perform these beauty services on ourselves at home. We have received a ton of inquiries of our favorite at-home products and rituals to get us all through this time, so that is what we are bringing to you today.

Gel/Dip Remover

Let’s start with the first thing that comes to mind, the first thing we purchased in quarantine, a Gel/Dip Remover Kit. Surprisingly enough, the entire process of removing our gel manicure was a lot easier than we thought it would be. This kit comes with the essentials: Nail Clips, Nail Remover Pads, a Cuticle Pusher, Nail Brushes, Nail Files, and Buffer Block Grits. Not only does it come with everything you need, but it’s also only $13.99 on Amazon.

Give Yourself an At-Home Gel Manicure + Pedicure

Now that your overgrown nails have been removed, what are you going to do now? Since we’re all beginners at this at-home self-care stuff, we highly recommend Sally Hansen’s Salon Pro Gel Starter Kit, Shell We Dance? We are in no way professionals when it comes to nail care, so finding a Gel Kit that was easy to use was a priority. After reading a million reviews, we knew this was the Gel Kit for us and we’re happy to report that we weren’t disappointed. Who knew you could give yourself a “professional-looking gel manicure” at home? However, this doesn’t mean we aren’t counting down the days until we can meet with our nail technicians face to face again.

Dare We Wax?

It’s a scary thought to think about waxing yourself, but it’s an essential beauty service we’re missing. Luckily, the retail waxing industry has been ready for this long before we have. We recently FaceTimed with our waxer and she recommended the ‘Parissa Wax Strips for Legs & Body’ or any branded wax stripes. Moral of the story, if you don’t want to have a “waxing accident” you’ll want to stick with waxing stripes. Here are the waxing stripes that worked for us.

Be Your Own Hairstylist

By now you probably know if your hairstylist is putting together at-home hair-dye kits and if you don’t it certainly doesn’t hurt to ask. We’re entirely grateful for all of the hairstylists going out of their way to mix product for us, provide supplies, gloves and offer curbside pickups so we don’t totally lose ourselves in this quarantine. Not only that, but they will also FaceTime with you when you get home and apply the products so you know exactly what you’re doing as you’re doing it. They know their South Florida clients all too well and we love that. Shoutout to Lindsey and #InternAng’s hairstylist, Makayla (Hair by Makayla) for providing a color kit we picked up curbside and applied to Angela’s hair last weekend. She is truly a lifesaver and an amazing hairstylist. Once we’re out of quarantine you will want to call her immediately. Check out her Instagram, https://rstyle.me/+AUXmlxcF38fCZM2LnRDUFQ to see her amazing work. It will make you even more excited to get out of quarantine and right into Makayla’s chair.
