Embracing Your Baby Bump this Mother's Day

As I reflect on my second Mother's Day as a mom, I'm overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible journey motherhood has been. Being pregnant was a whirlwind of emotions and sacrifices, but every moment was worth it.

I'll admit, that taking these maternity photos was a challenge for me. Seeing my changing body stirred up a mix of feelings, and I initially struggled to embrace it. But looking back now, I see this pregnant body in a whole new light.

To all my friends on the brink of motherhood, remember this: "your body is a wonderland." I literally text this to my friends when they start to go into labor because it’s true. You won't fully grasp its strength until you've experienced the miracle of pregnancy and birth. You will be shocked at what your body can do and how a woman’s body is literally made to do this.

Yes, the journey isn't always easy. I didn't "bounce back" as quickly as I hoped, and there were tough moments. But hindsight has shown me the beauty in every step. But, having a significant other as your "hype person" truly makes such a difference. Thank you, Nathan for always making me feel beautiful and even sexy when I felt like a beached whale. I love you.

They say there's a chemical in your brain that helps you forget the hardships of pregnancy and birth. I believe it. Because now, I see the magic in every change. If you're feeling overwhelmed or uncertain, know this: those tough feelings will fade. Motherhood is a journey of growth and adaptation, and your mind, body, and spirit will rise to meet it.

So here's to all the moms-to-be and new moms out there. You are incredible. Your journey is beautiful. And remember, you're never alone on this wild ride called motherhood.
